Art & Play Workshop

For Parents & Toddlers

Ages: 0-3 years with parental participation

Our Art & Play workshops aim to connect parents and guardians to the current exhibitions in the Arts Centre while allowing 0–3-year-olds explore the works on display and related materials afterwards. The series provides a safe, fun space for babies and their parents/guardians to play and connect with the arts and with each other.

Through the workshops, participants will experiment with a variety of sensory delights. From finger paint to collage, we explore all sorts of hands-on techniques, perfect for developing motor skills and encouraging creativity.

Our Art & Play Workshops, devised by Laura Larkin in 2023, are facilitated by artist Laura Flood.

Laura Flood graduated with a BA Hons in Art from the Wexford Campus School of Art & Design in 2019 and an MA in Art & Research Collaboration at IADT in 2024. She is currently completing a one-year professional Natural Dyers course with Apple Oaks Fibreworks. She also studied permaculture design in Portugal in 2020 after graduating from college. She is a recipient of the ArtLinks Bursary 2023 and has previously shown work at IMMA Earth Rising Festival, The LAB gallery, and Wexford Arts Centre. She will be the artist in residence for the Art & Play programme at Wexford Arts Centre in 2025. Laura has organically grown flowers to make her natural dyes. She works with natural materials and is informed by permaculture theory.
