Christmas Craft Event at Murphy’s Barn

Now in its fourth year, the Christmas Craft Event at Murphy’s Barn  is fast becoming a seasonal staple in Wexford.

Curated by Patricia Howard of The Potter’s Yard with venue proprietor Sinead O’Mahony, this year’s event will take place on Saturday, 23 November and Sunday, 24 November 2024 form 10am to 5pm each day.  The event features 15 of Wexford’s finest artisan makers and for the first time an additional painting and photography exhibition in the Loft Gallery.

Announcing the event, Patricia said: “We are delighted to welcome back many exhibitors from previous years, as well as some new faces, who together bring a diverse range of quality crafts to the event for you to peruse and purchase. We are also excited to add another dimension to the event this year, a painting and photography exhibition on the upper floor.”

Returning to exhibit at the 2024 Christmas Craft Event are: Island Willow Baskets, David Kennedy Original Stained Glass, Beadcrochet Bangles (Helen Delaney), Interior Textile Design (Michele Sweetman), The Truffle Patch (Rachel Cogley), Quilling (Grace Rossney), Mountaingate Crafts (Kathleen Kinsella),  Olga Fitzpatrick Original Irish Artwork & gifts, Flowers created by Marian (Marian O’Hanlon)  and The Potter’s Yard.

New exhibitors for 2024 include: Kilkenny Woodworkers (Sean Murphy), Kreations by Krista, Wild Herb Elixir (Phil Walsh), Hats Haute Couture (Carolina Crowe), Kosy Handmade Knitwear (Simone Wagner)

The Loft Gallery Painting and Photography Exhibition will feature works by painters Nelius Flynn Artworks, David Begley, Eileen Cloney, Hanneke van Ryswyk and photographers Tansy McLaughlin and Kristin Gray. The exhibition will run from November 23^rd until December 7^th.

Murphy’s Barn is a wonderful and unique venue, just a 10-minute drive outside Wexford town with a gorgeous café, The M Coffee House, serving delicious cakes and treats. (Y35 E002)

The event will be officially opened on the 23^rd by Maura Bell, Big Barn Art & Antiques. Come for the coffee and stay for the craft!
