Livin’ off the Hook

Join Liam Colfer for a walking tour around the tip of the Hook peninsula.

 

Liam, your guide was raised on the Hook. He spent ten years working as the head tour guide at Hook Lighthouse, the oldest intact lighthouse in the world and the gem of this peninsula. More recently he worked for the Commissioners of Irish Lights carrying out maintenance duties on Hook Lighthouse as lighthouse keepers of the past would have done. A self confessed pharologist (studying lighthouses), he has just come back to the Hook after spending the past few years travelling with his family and visiting lighthouses all over Europe.

 

Liam spent his childhood roaming the shoreline discovering every rock, chan, cave as well as the numerous historic buildings and ruins dotted along the route. He knows it inside and out, is passionate about the whole area, the history, geography and nature of the Hook and he looks forward to sharing his stories with you!
