Music for Wexford present Harp Ireland concert

 

Tríona Marshall has played with The Chieftains since 2003, performing at festivals and concert halls around the world and in the USA, Japan, China and Australia. She has recorded extensively with The Chieftains and was principal harpist with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra.

Cruitirí Loch Garman – Wexford Harp Ensemble directed by Aileen Kennedy, are based in Co. Wexford consisting of over 20 harp players who play and sing all types of music and songs at events both locally and internationally.

Hands on Harps Session: 11am-1pm FREE

In a fun and interactive harp workshop, our harpers will share the story of the harp; its history in ancient Ireland, what it’s made from and its importance as our national symbol. Suitable for all members of the family – you only need to bring yourself and might even get to try out the harp!

Join Cruit Éireann | Harp Ireland and Music for Wexford in St Iberius Church to hear one of Ireland’s foremost harpers, Tríona Marshall, perform a concert celebrating our national instrument. We are delighted that Tríona will be joined by the Wexford Harp Ensemble – Cruitirí Loch Garman, directed by Aileen Kennedy as part of Music for Wexford’s “side by side” initiative, giving amateur musicians the opportunity to perform alongside professionals.
