The 2025 mainstage operas are:
- Le trouvère | Verdi – a rare chance to hear the French version of Il trovatore, featuring stunning ballet music and refined orchestration. (Production sponsored by Elavon).
- Deidamia | Handel – Handel’s final Italian opera, balancing humour and drama in a tale of heroism and love. (A co-production with Göttingen International Handel Festival).
- The Magic Fountain | Delius – inspired by Delius’s time in Florida, this opera follows a Spanish explorer’s obsession with the Fountain of Eternal Youth. (Production sponsored by Danone and supported by The Delius Trust).
In addition to our main stage operas, the festival features a rich variety of performances. Our Pocket Operas bring intimate, powerful storytelling to the stage, while the Community Opera welcomes local talent in a vibrant production and in a non-theatrical setting. The Factory Opera showcases Wexford Factory Participants, shaping the future of opera with their artistry and dedication.
Beyond these, the festival is packed with free pop-up performances throughout Wexford, inspiring lunchtime recitals, our glittering Gala Concert, engaging talks, and so much more.
General booking begins on 7 May 2025
