Wexford Light Opera Society Young Frankenstein
Get ready for a monstrously fun and electrifying theatrical experience as the Wexford Light Opera Society proudly presents the West End version of Young Frankenstein from Monday, April 28th, to Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, at the National Opera House. Brought to life by the creative genius of Mel Brooks, this hilarious musical adaptation of the beloved 1974 film is packed with laughs, catchy tunes, and a wild romp through Transylvania like never before.
Follow the misadventures of Dr. Frederick Frankenstein (pronounced “Fronkensteen”), the grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein, as he inherits his family’s castle and stumbles upon his grandfather’s secret experiments. Despite his attempts to distance himself from his ancestor’s notorious reputation, Frederick can’t resist the temptation to bring a creature to life—leading to comical chaos, eccentric villagers, and a monster with a heart (and song) of his own!
This riotous musical is filled with unforgettable songs such as “The Transylvania Mania,” “He Vas My Boyfriend,” and the show-stopping “Puttin’ on the Ritz.” WLOS’s production promises a visually stunning set, lively choreography, and the kind of slapstick humour that will leave audiences rolling with laughter from start to finish.
