La Cote
If you’re in to new textures and flavours, and appreciate a menu that changes with the seasons, the seafood at La Cote is definitely a good catch! Following years spent in Michelin-star restaurants such as L’Ecrivain in Dublin, chef Paul has a wonderful skill preparing a menu that is inspired by what he can source locally; fish caught off the coast of Wexford’s Kilmore Quay; meat sourced from local farmers; artisan breads he bakes himself and herbs, plants and vegetables grown or foraged for locally.
Green Acres
Calling all wine lovers! Green Acres is one of the most popular Michelin recommended restaurants in the South East; and an institution amongst locals, who are more than familiar with owner James; the sixth generation of his family to carry on business in the town. With one of the most extensive and award-winning wine lists in the country, your table here will be surrounded by shelves adorned with the world’s best wines. And if you’re so inclined, keep your eye out for Wine Tasting Dinners and other equally impressive events at the Green Acres Gallery.
Strand Tavern
One of the many reasons to visit the Strand Tavern in picturesque Duncannon is to see the bar, counter and shelving, which is made from the stricken wreckage of The Alfred D. Snow, a ship which was driven ashore and wrecked in severe storm conditions in 1888. Another reason is for its laid-back atmosphere, family friendly approach, and traditional home-produced pub grub. Share a plate of Rope grown Glen Bay mussels or treat yourself to a homemade Irish lamb burger with Wexford cheddar cheese as you tuck into its extensive list of Irish craft beers.

But the warm welcome from attentive staff is just as renowned. Come here for a sophisticated ambiance and a menu that changes regularly to reflect the availability of fresh local artisan producers. Sink your fork into Wexford sirloin beef or cod caught in Kilmore Quay, and make sure to save room for desserts like fluffy pavlova with Wexford strawberries.
The Kitchen, Gorey
The Kitchen offers casual dining at its best. The full floor to ceiling windows offer an outstanding view, but that’s not all that’s fresh at this establishment; with a menu featuring fantastic daily specials, and beautifully crafted evening meals with seasonal changes. The Kitchen’s philosophy is to create simple, but refined dishes. At the heart of its humble menu you’ll find angus burgers, glorified wood fired pizzas and gourmet pies using only the best Irish ingredients.
The Duck Restaurant
With a sandstone terrace for alfresco dining, overlooking the kitchen garden that’s filled with vegetables, soft fruits, and a plethora of herbs, you’ll be forgiven for thinking you’re in Italy, in this ambient setting. Located in a restored courtyard on the grounds of Marlfield Country House Hotel, The Duck Terrace Restaurant and Café offers a modern menu with Italian influences, such as antipasta, flatbreads, and exciting salads made from ingredients grown in their very own garden.
The Harvest Room

Cistin Eile
As the name suggests, this restaurant thrives on its Irishness! With a warm hospitality, and a reputation of unpretentious fine dining, the menu is nothing short of exceptional, with Irish dishes that take pride of place such as Tony Butlers black-and-white cabbage salad, and comfort food like slow-cooked Irish beef with spiced turnip colcannon amongst more. An Irish slogan on the wall reads ‘Hunger makes a great sauce’, but the combination of flavours that are so expertly chosen, which give every dish a wonderful Irish twist, will satisfy the taste buds of every tummy.
The Yard
Located right in the heart of Wexford Town, the focus of The Yard is on creating simple, affordable, delicious Irish dishes, in a casual and informal environment. Chef Mary and her team use produce picked fresh from their own Farmyard to create dishes like Glazed Pork Belly with Pickled Red Cabbage, and Garden Quiche with Rainbow Beets and Spring Pea Pesto. The courtyard entry way is speckled with fairy lights come evening, with candles and lanterns lighting the way, lending itself to a stunning summer al fresco dining experience.
Templers Inn
Bring your binoculars, your camera and a warm jacket to the large decking area at Templars Inn, for sweeping views across Templetown Bay to Dunmore East. A pub lunch with large portions is the menu of the day here, with seafood taking priority. A live, and popular spot for Sunday lunch in particular.
