If you are a fan of vintage crockery and drinking tea from a fine china cup and saucer, this is your place to go. Owner and head chef Tina O’ Dwyer makes some of the best cakes in the county. Her cakes are light, fluffy and hit the right sweetness notes. You will find things like old fashioned Victoria sponges with raspberry jam and cream, soft lemon polenta cake, rich chocolate brownie and a great apple tart. Sweet treats change regularly here as Tina is a huge supporter of using local produce like butter, free range eggs and buttermilk from her sisters farm, Tinnock Farm. Wholemeal flour comes from Ballyminine Mill just outside Enniscorthy – one of Ireland’s oldest working watermills. Much of the fruit used comes from Tina’s own edible garden and neighbouring growers.
